Casinos

Cannes has three casinos - Croisette, Palm Beach and Les Princes. Passports are needed to get in and it's adults only please. No smoking rules apply.  This is Cannes so you will be expected to make an effort to dress for the occasion - shorts and T-shirts not welcomed.
Les Princes is in the basement of the hotel Palais Stephanie on the Croisette. It has one armed bandit machines which take 1, 2 and 5 centimes coins.

Palm Beach casino has joined the Croisette in offering outdoor gambling to attract the smokers back.

According to Nice Matin, the regional paper, more than 24,000 Cote d'Azur residents - both men and women - play Texas Hold'em poker.
Casino Palm Beach holds Ladies Poker Tournaments costing 35 euros to enter.  They run alongside the major tournaments held at the casino.
Casino Croisette has introduced weekly ladies' games - Fridays at 7pm, but check as they are experimenting with days and times. Cost is 70 euros.

The Eden Casino, in Juan les Pins, famously refused entry to Coco Chanel for wearing beach pyjamas.  Scott Fitzgerald and Cole Porter, who had homes on the Cap d'Antibes, also gambled here. Josphine Baker and Edith Piaf performed at the Casino restaurant.

Today, every Thursday evening, you can dine in the elegant Meditarranee restaurant - overlooking the sea and the Cap d'Antibes - and be entertained by pianist Claudio. The three course meal costs 35 euros, including 5 euros in chips to play in the casino (don't foget your passport to get into the casino proper). The food is excellent and you can choose a la carte for the songs of your choice - from jazz or classical, to love songs and film music. Why not dedicate your choice to your  partner? It was a great evening the night we were there. The restaurant is also open for lunch.

The casino offers machines from 5 centimes to 5 euros plus roulette, black jack and Texas Hold 'em Poker.
