The Sea

Without the lure of the Mediterranean Cannes would not be the town it is today.  Originally it was a tiny fishing village.  Many visit to sunbathe on the beautiful beaches, swim in the clear sea and sail and cruise around the bay and beyond.  Boats will take you to the islands and further afield to Monaco and St Tropez.

Kite Surfing
The former fishing shop at 111 Bd du Midi, La Bocca, is now a kite surfing shop, Air X Kite.
It also offers lessons including a package for beginners: April - November. Tel 06 60 41 87 34

Seabob - the ultimate toy for water babies!

You have to watch this video (click below). The Seabob offers it all - riding the waves, zooming on and under the water and power assisted diving. Seen at the Cannes Boat Show, the German manufacturer bills it the ultimate super yacht toy. It offers thrills and spills and lots of fun.  Surely it can't be long before you can hire one...?
To buy one you are talking between 9,000 and 15,000 euros, depending on the model, excluding extras such as bags, trollies and quick chargers for the batteries.
You can buy a Seabob at Aqua Marine Yachts, St Jean Cap Ferrat.

I really, really want one.

Cool-Swim - a portable sea pool

Hate jelly fish, and who doesn't? Another wacky idea but oh so useful from the Cannes Boat Show.

It comes in three sizes from 2.5m (8ft) to 6m (20ft) and costs from 700 to 1100 euros. Why does anything linked to boats cost so much...I know, I know.
The price includes a carry bag and foot pump. Ideal for boat and waterfront home owners as well as campers and anyone who hates jellyfish but loves seabathing.

Available from 13 rue Latour Mauberg, Port Canto, Cannes.
