Caprices des Mers opened in April 2010 in Le Suquet at the top of the pedestrianised road from the old harbour.  It is fish par excellence, supplied by the owner's father who catches the fish and owns a wet fish shop at 3 rue Chabaud just off rue d'Antibes.

Freshness is the key as you would expect.  There are menus at 29€, 39€ and 55€.

You can go a la carte by starting with six oysters at 12€, followed by mixed sea grill at 32€ and ice cream with hot chocolate at 9€.  Alternatively you can share a whole sea bass at 8€ per 100 grams.

We were recommended an excellent Sancerre at 30€.  Not a cheap meal but of an excellent standard.

Open evenings Tuesday to Saturday, lunchtimes Saturday and Sunday.

Reservations: 04 93 39 20 34.

Very near the Palais des Festivals and opposite the tourist office is a long established restaurant - La Potiniere.

It has a choice of fixed price meals: two course meals for 17.50€, three for 20.90and 29.90€.  House wine is 4.50 a glass.
