Scuba Diving in Cannes
If you have ever tried scuba diving you will either hate it or be hooked for life. The underwater world is magical and in the Cannes area there is an abundance of wildlife, especially around the protected Iles des Lerins and the wrecks (for experienced divers only).

Most divers can look forward to seeing sponges, red coral, sea slugs and sea hares, octopus, cuttlefish, lobsters, common torpedo rays and stingrays plus a host of fish we normally see on our plates. In the summer there are also dolphins.

Snorkelling is the simplest way of experiencing life under water.

Half day snorkelling trips at sea are available from Sylpa, Plongee Club de Cannes at Quai St Pierre, for 12.50 euros including fins, mask and snorkel.  Cigale offers snorkelling adventures from 25 euros, including equipment, per person.

It is now possible to buy a mask with an inbuilt underwater digital camera - photos downloaded into your computer - for about 70 euros.
